With great sorrow Raymond, Linda and Kris announce the untimely passing of Kirsten Bell, a beautiful and caring daughter and sister. A loving and caring partner to Johnny and a very special and adored mummy to their two perfect and gorgeous daughters Aoife and Orlaith, Kirsten enjoyed the company of her granny Margaret Bell, her sister - in - law Kristina, aunts, uncles and cousins and was a good and unforgettable friend to many. A celebration of life service will take place at Aberdeen Crematorium, Hazlehead (West Chapel) on Friday October 10 2025 at 1:15pm. All respectfully invited, family flowers only please, but donations if so desired can be given at the chapel exit for cure Myotonic Dystrophy UK. Resting at Mark Shaw Funeral Services, 26 Abbotswell Crescent, AB12 5JW. Sadly missed.

Cleaning

so funnily enough Kirsten and i first got to know each other through cleaning…both our now exs shared a flat and they were disgusting there was so much rubbish piled up, dirty dishes and mouldy food everywhere. We had just met but decided to go to the shop together to buy cleaning supplies. We spent 3hours together cleaning just their galley kitchen (it was ridiculously dirty) and then after that we seen each other every day for the next week (without the boys). I remember saying to her on day 7 “are you not fed up of me yet?” And she replied no so from then on we were best friends. X

Story

Christmas

one of Kirsten’s most favoutite times of year was Christmas! She loved all the colour, decorations and lights and spending time with loved ones. She loved the “christmas magic” and would begin counting down to Christmas long in advance.
At Christmas time her home would often resemble Santas grotto she loved decorating with all the twinkly lights, tinsel and decorations. Im sure this is something the girls will never forget every year as they decorate the tree. Kirsten also loved a real Christmas tree and the smell of christmas time.
However…her time keeping and organisation was awful and many a time i received an easter egg from her accompanied by “oh i got you this for Christmas but kept forgetting to give it to you”

In her own time

We’ve been sharing stories of how on time Kirsten loved to be 😂 if we were meeting at 1 we’d tell her 11 and she was still mostly late 😂
I just remember how tidy her bedroom was at your house 😂 but I must admit whatever I was sleeping on on the floor must have been comfy coz I always managed to sleep. 😂
I’m not sure she has a bed in there 1/2 the time 😂
I’ll miss her who cares attitude. Always there to put lofe into perspective and the world to rights. An amazing friend, daughter, partner, and mum. Gone far too soon and will forever be miss. She was ine special girl xx

Animal lover

Anyone who knew Kirsten knew how much she loved animals. It got to the point on a night out she would take some of Scamps dog biscuits in her handbag to give to the homeless peoples dogs on her way home. Due to this it used to take forever to get food and get a taxi as we would spend all eve speaking to the dogs. There were also occassions when she would buy pets of take animals into the house. I rememebr having a shower one day and there was a rabbit living in the bathroom! She loved having a dog for company and even gifted her mum a dog. She definitely believed pets were part of the family.

Becoming a mummy

Kirsten always loved kids and was always destined to become a mum. Through the years she had jobs looking after kids and always wanted her own. When she fell pregnant with Aoife she didnt quite come out and say it but we were on a dog walk one night and when it was just us as Johnny ended up a bit further back playing with the dogs i just came out and asked her “are you pregnant?” I cant remember what she had been talking about i think it was her boobs 😂 and she told me she was. I remember visiting her in the hopital and feeling so honoured as I went to give her a hug (Kirsten wasnt a huggy person unless she was drunk but she tolerated me hugging her every time) had a peek at the baby and sat down. With the cot at the end of her bed she told me to go and pick Aoife up and give her a cuddle. I asked if she was sure and she said yes of course i was one of the few people she trusted to take her out the cot. Kirsten just loved being a mum to both her girls and she just wanted to do everything “right” whether that was what they got to eat or a bedtime routine etc and I know Johnny will continue to bring them up knowing just how much their mum loved and adored them.

Running

Kirsten went through a phase of enjoying going running and somehow tried to convince me I did too 😂 it was not long after I met Stephen and being super fit just out the army I wanted to impress him. Kirsten suggested we ask him to come a run with us. We headed off our usual route past pittodrie and towards the beach. Stephen was walking with his sister as she had the buggy and Kirsten pipes up “lets run up the hill”. The hill was like a mountian of steps but she took off up it and i had no choice but to follow, aware Stephen was now running behind us catching up. I was about passing out trying to run up all the steps but kept going as 1 Kirsten was almost at the top and 2 i didnt want to look really unfit and out of breathe infront of Stephen. I made it to the top and managed to just about get my breathe back before she was off again down the other side. Somehow around this time she also managed to convince me to enter a 10K race with her…needless to say i no longer go running!

Story

Chicken

Kirsten was at my flat one day and decided she really fancied some chicken. I didnt have any but she said dont worry my mum does in her freezer we can go get that. We didnt have enough money for a bus though but Kirsten wanted chicken that much she insisted we walk all the way from Rosemount to Cove to get the chicken (luckily we got a bus back!) (dont know if she asked her mum for the chicken or the bus fares though 🙈) Kirstens plan was to deep fry it in bits so she poured all my oil in a pan and heated it. Problem was I only had a plastic ladle type spoon so every time she tried to stir or take out the chicken there was lots of black bits stuck to it. Took us a minute to realise my spoon was melting in the hot oil and it was plastic stuck in the chicken. Needless to say we didnt get to eat it in the end.

Story

Birthday cake

As a student money was tight but Kirsten decided I couldnt not have a birthday without a birthday cake. So we scraped what pennies we had netween us together (even searching my flat incase found any more) and she decided we were going to bake my birthday cake. Problem was i was already using the emergency on mg electric and we could see the money counting down on the key meter. So instead of using our pennies to top up the electric we decided to spend them on ingredients including a box of reduced strawberries. In the dark with no heating or tv etc on we began baking hoping the oven wouldnt cost too much. We were half way through thinking it was an unusual recipe as was having to beat lots of egg whites. Turns out it was for a pavlova! So turns out my electric ran out and the pavlova was a fail so had no power and no cake but we still had a great night together and i didnt spend my birthday alone.
